This is not a Brazilian brand, it is inspired by Brazil and I will give my review as a Brazilian.
When you apply the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 perfume on your body, the top note is sweet, when the alcohol evaporates and the perfume settles on your skin you can smell the salted caramel and pistachio. At first I didn’t like it very much, but on my second attempt to use the product, I liked the smell.
It has a sweet smell, but it is not too cloying, the salt “breaks” the sweetness a little, balancing the smell. The pistachio gives a more fruity note. The product is very subtle, just right so as not to be too sweet for summer.
The product is like a body splash that has a milder fragrance for hotter days, something more discreet so as not to bother the people around you with a strong smell.
Does the smell remind Brazil?
The smell reminds you more of a European summer, summer in Italy than in Brazil. After all, pistachio is not an ingredient that is easily found in Brazil, it is not something present in Brazilian culture.
I know many Brazilian brands, such as Granado, Natura, and oBoticário. Brazilians like a fresher, citrusy scent for the summer; sweet scents in Brazil have a more childish feel. Pistachio is an oilier fruit, so to be more Brazilian, the brand could swap the pistachio for a Brazil nut, coconut, or to achieve a fresher sensation, for example, for a passion fruit.
The product is very good, but if your intention is to try something from Brazil, be aware that it is not an authentic Brazilian experience. It’s like eating Italian pasta at an American fast-food chain.
